Story: Samus has just slain an enemy on planet UCB 1, and is watching the light effects from her enemy vaporizing in front of her.

Making:
Had an old model of samus in my libary so I decided to finish her. She was built too look more like there actually is a person inside the suit. Used references from the web of the game model for the design. Rendered samus very plain and added all the dirtyness in ps. Background was made in mudbox because maya refused to render with displacements on my poor old computer. So it's a about a 400k mesh with normal maps. Render it out in a few diffrent passes and blended them to get the look. Samus is also a mix of diffrent renders. Totalt render time (all passes) was around 10 hours. Smoke is from an image of cigar smoke I tweaked to fit. The plasma effect is also an image of smoke that I had an happy accident with. Thought it fit very good so I made up a story around it. Painted alot in ps to add extra fog/smoke/dirt.
